Here at EPLAN USA, our goal is to be the thought leaders in Efficient Engineering by advising companies about their process optimization. We work closely with our clients to develop software-based engineering solutions in order to accelerate customer’s product development and manufacturing processes.
Our team generated a great deal of interest as we showcased the new technical solutions that we have introduced to the U.S. market during a series of live demos at the Rockwell Automation Fair® in Philadelphia last week.
EPLAN partners with companies in the Rockwell Automation Global Encompass™ PartnerNetwork™, such as such as Festo USA, BLOCK and Panduit. We continue to co-develop a collaborative solution via a suite of software within various Encompass Partner platforms and systems, ultimately serving many industries in need of automation. During the 2-day event in Philadelphia last week, EPLAN used the opportunity to showcase some of these partnerships.
Of notable importance is our strategic relationship with Rockwell Automation, which allows the companies to come together, leveraging shared strengths, to provide value added, custom solutions for end users. Rockwell and EPLAN continue to work together to elevate the manner in which they are able to engage in cloud initiatives and core business solutions. At the 2018 Automation Fair®, EPLAN successfully presented a use case for production line maintenance. This was done by leveraging PTC ThingWorx, in which EPLAN and Rockwell are able to perform an analysis on all key components to troubleshoot and then find a ready solution. Another such successful EPLAN collaboration is with Festo USA whereby a complex pneumatic control systems design can be created with quick accuracy within minutes, as compared to traditional design methods which can take several hours of dedicated engineering time.
AML, PAM, AND STORE SHARE VIEW
With so many great advancements it is no wonder that the EPLAN booth at the Automation Fair® was continually bursting with Rockwell customers, distributors, sales personnel, solutions partners and systems integrators looking to understand more fully the true potential of these offerings. Folks were looking to hear more about how technical advances such as Automated Marketing Language (AML) are able to mitigate the need to use ‘discreet device tags’ in PLC code solutions. The benefit is the ability to re-use developed PLC code solutions, thus saving time and reducing redundant errors. AML has been used in Europe and is now available for the North American market via Rockwell Automation.
Store Share View provides a cloud solution which empowers users to get the data they need, when they need it. Critical data used for maintenance and repair tasks can be found and used quickly and efficiently. It’s the right data, at the right time, for the right application. EPAN Store Share View enables collaboration and easier documentation management. PAM (PANEL Automation Matrix) is the first of its kind for the control panel business. PAM is a consultancy business assessment tool which is helping companies understand their operations by analyzing, identifying challenges and creating opportunities for improvement.
“At EPLAN we are business consultants to our customers. By understanding the business needs of our customer, we can co-develop with the client a custom solution that is truly tailored to their needs,” says Paul McAdams, Sr. Strategic Account Manager for EPLAN. “The process is unique; we ask a series of questions meant to navigate the customer through their current process. The results can be shown within a few minutes and will offer the best fit recommendations. Along with these recommendations we provide examples of the ROI for the solutions. We believe that the results of the PAM analysis will benefit most medium and high-volume control panel shops.”
